Most Chinese geoparks have a large stone tablet at the entrance that bears the full name and logo of the geopark as well as the national or global geopark logos if they have been approved such status. The tablet is normally made of rocks from the geopark, and it signifies the image and degree of importance of the geopark. The design is preferably based on the iconic natural characteristics of the geopark but must be simple and innovative. It is also labelled with the name of the approving authority, such as the Ministry of Land and Resources or the UNESCO Global Geoparks Network.
