In China, global and national geoparks are directly managed by the Ministry of Land and Resources, while the provincial and municipal geoparks are managed by the provincial Departments of Land and Resources but are authorised by the Ministry of Land and Resources to supervise and monitor the performance of geoparks within their jurisdiction.
