Geological Heritage Survey
This term refers to surveys of geological relics of significant scientific, aesthetic, science education and tourism development values. They can be divided into regional geological heritage surveys, surveys of areas of concentrated geological relics, and geosite surveys. A regional geological survey is a general survey or census of the geological relics in a provincial administrative region. It is intended to locate geological relics that can potentially be included in geological reserves or geological relic protection zones. A geosite survey is a survey of geological relics and landscapes or a group of them to determine whether they are attractive enough to be designated as an independent geosite of scientific, education or tourism importance.
