This geopark is located in the coastal area of Anglesey and has an area of 715 km2. It became a global geopark in 2009. The park offers visitors many attractions and activities. For example, the Beaumaris Trail, one of a series of local tourism trails, is the first town tourism trail in Anglesey. Tourists can easily reach the Beaumaris Trail through the 201-km-long coastal trail and then follow the trails to explore the coast of Anglesey. Along the Beaumaris Trail, visitors can learn how humans used rocks for a variety of uses, such as for decorative carvings in castles, roofs, roads and houses.
