Fuxin Haizhou Open Cut National Mining Park, Liaoning

This park is located in the Taiping District, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province. The pit is 4 km long, 2 km wide, 314 m deep, and covers an area of nearly 8 km2. The waste dump and coal gangue field cover an area of 14 km2. It became a national mining park in 2005. The overall layout includes one water park, two pits (a pit and a death pit), three piles (the Haizhou gangue pile, Xinqiu gangue pile, and Sunjiawan gangue pile), four sites (a mine culture corridor, sedimentary strata protection zone, train museum and coal mining area) and five recreational activities (walking into the pit, riding a tramway, riding a small train, climbing a mountain and visiting the mine house).
