This is a representative type of carbonate stone forest landscape. It is composed of Jurassic calcareous conglomerate, and the Anxian Shilin in Sichuan Province is a typical example. It is a unique type of stone forest in which the clasts of the conglomerate are mainly limestone and dolomite. The clasts are 2–15 cm in diameter, and the largest can reach 20–50 cm with calcareous coagulation. The conglomerate is part of the alluvial fan facies of the ancient Longmen Mountains. The columns are generally 2–4 m tall and can be up to 8 m. The stone forest is accompanied by dissolved depressions and dolines with a semi-exposed formation, which is often covered by Middle-Late Pleistocene sediments. The column bodies are rugged and robust, and they are one of the relic geological landscapes in Anxian Bioherm National Geopark (Fig. 21).
