The forest coverage rate is the percentage of forest area in a country or area. China stipulates that the forest coverage rate, including arbour forests, bamboo forests, shrubs, farm-related forests and forested areas surrounding villages, roads, water bodies and houses, should be a minimum canopy density of 0.2. The forest coverage rate is an important indicator that reflects the richness of forest resources and the ecological quality of a country.
