Explosion breccia pipes are also known as cryptoexplosive breccia pipes. They are cone-shaped volcanic breccia pipes formed by underground eruptions. The pipe is usually accompanied by gold, iron, copper, uranium and other mineral deposits, which are an important indicator for ore exploration. Most of the diamond deposits in South Africa are produced from such breccia pipes.
