The equatorial tropical rainforest climates are found in a zone approximately 10° of latitude wide between the Tropic of Cancer in the north and the Tropic of Capricorn in the south. They are mainly distributed in the Amazon River Basin in South America, the Congo River Basin in Africa, and Indonesia and Malaysia in Asia. They are controlled by the equatorial low pressure zone; therefore, equatorial air masses prevail. The variations in annual temperature, humidity and rainfall are small. The annual temperature is high, and the rainfall is over 2,000 mm and is evenly distributed over the year. Forests are dense, and plants are widely distributed and form a natural vegetation landscape of tropical rainforests.
