E’erguna National Mining Park, Inner Mongolia

This park is located in Shiwei Russia Nationality Township, E’erguna City, northwestern Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was designated as a national mining park in 2010. Placer gold deposits can be found along 1,000 miles of the banks of the E’erguna River, which is praised as a ‘gilded riverbank’. The gold mining in E’erguna dates back more than one hundred years. The mining features mainly include mining production heritage, historical records of mining development, mining activity heritage, mining products, and human landscapes related to mining activity. The park is a comprehensive national placer gold mining park that integrates placer gold heritage, gold culture, environmental culture, ethnic minority culture, science popularisation education, sightseeing, cultural entertainment, leisure and vacationing.
