Dabashan National Geopark, Sichuan

This geopark is located on the boundary between Xuanhan County in Dazhou City and Wanyuan City. It has an area of 218 km2. In August 2009, the Ministry of Land and Resources approved it as one of the 5th group of national geoparks. It is characterised by karst landscapes and tectonic geology. The geopark contains many types of folds, such as large box folds and complex folds. The main karst features include gorges, karst caves, cliffs, pinnacles, peak clusters, dissolution basins, sprouts, dolines, vertical shafts and funnels.
