Crater Landscape

This is a type of volcanic landscape composed of the sunken portion of the upper part of a volcanic vent as described by M.P. Billings. Craters have become important tourist attractions. The Heilongshan crater in Wudalianchi is a mountain top crater that erupted at least 280 years ago, and the Fenglu Ridge crater in Haikou formed during an eruption more than 8,000 years ago (Fig. 53).
