Resources of nature-based tourism have specific formation conditions and stages of historical evolution that affect their distribution. They can be relatively concentrated or dispersed. Concentration zones are areas where the resources are more concentrated. Natural resources are generally richer along coasts, rivers, and in areas between basins and mountains. Examples are China’s coastal and island nature-based tourism resources concentration zones, the Daxing’anling- Taihangshan - Wushan - Wulingshan concentration zone, Yangtze River concentration zone and Yellow River concentration zone.
