Chongming Yangtze River Delta National Geopark, Shanghai
Chongming Yangtse River Delta National Geopark (Shanghai) is located at the eastern end of Chongming Island near the mouth of the Yangtze River. It became a national geopark in 2005. A combination of Tuanjiesha, Dongwangsha and Beibachesha, Chongming Island is the largest estuarine alluvial delta in the world, and it is endowed with unique geological features and diverse landforms, such as extensive tidal flats, wetlands and typical tidal creeks. Dongtan, the eastern beach of Chongming Island, is the largest wetland near the mouth of the Yangtze River.
