This mining park is located in Shizhong, Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. It became a mining park in 2010 and covers an area of 21.30 km. The park is divided into two parts: north and south. The park is located in the Taozao Basin, which is a sub-structure of the Luzhong Block, at the eastern end of the Taozao Coalfield. The strata in the mining area are of the North China type. The coal-bearing strata are in the Carboniferous-Permian Taiyuan Formation and Shanxi Formation, which are offshore coal formations containing 18 thick and thin coal seams. The park is dominated by the Zhongxing Coal Mine, which has displays of mineral production equipment and other artefacts. The park represents the world’s best mining and processing science and technology and integrates natural and cultural elements to make the mining scientifically valuable and attractive.
