This geopark is located in Yizhou City, Hechi area, in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The geopark has a planned area of 114 km2. It was designated as a national geopark by the Ministry of Land and Resources in December 2011. It consists of four scenic districts, including Xiangbei, Xiajian, Longjiang and Shibie. The geopark is dominated by karst landforms such as stone forests in water, karst caves and cave deposits, isolated peaks and monadnocks, karst hills, springs, peak clusters, depressions and underground rivers, typical structural geological features, rare plants, fossils and other natural and human landscapes. These features not only comprehensively illustrate the regional sedimentation and tectonic movements but also provide a broader stage for the development of national culture and crafts. The geopark is important for studying the evolution of landforms, sedimentation and structure in Guangxi, and it has important scientific research and tourism value.
