Xin Wang (1945–) graduated from the Department of Geology, Taiwan University and obtained a PhD in economic geology from Columbia University. From 1988 to 1996, he served as the director of the Parks of Taiwan and as a professor in the Department of Geography at Taiwan University. He is currently a professor at the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan. He has long been engaged in the study of tourism geology. He is the author of ‘Topography and Landscape of Taiwan’, ‘Landscape Conservation’, and ‘Special Geographic Landscape in Taiwan’. He contributes significantly to disseminating tourism earth science studies and promoting the establishment of geoparks in Taiwan.
