Wulongshan National Geopark is located in Longshan County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, and covers an area of 142 km2. It became a national geopark in 2009. It is characterized by karst, Danxia, and fluvial erosion landforms and water landscape. Taiping Mountain is a typical fortress-like Danxia landform. Its peak has an elevation of 642 m, and it is 3–80 m wide and is surrounded by cliffs. The relative elevation reaches 300 m. Potholes have developed in the bed of the Mengdonghe River in Xincheng Country.
