This is a glacial erosional landscape similar to the morphology of a roche moutonnee. A whaleback stone is characterised by an elongated oval shape and consistent orientation with the long axis parallel to the glacier’s flow. In contrast to a roche moutonnee, the slopes on both sides have similar gradients, which indicates that during the formation process, glacial abrasion was dominant, and plucking was insignificant.
