Weathering is a fundamental geological process that shapes landforms. It can be classified into chemical weathering, physical weathering and biological weathering, and all are related to the in situ breakdown of minerals and rock masses. Weathering is an important factor in sculpting natural landforms, such as the egg-shape granitic landforms formed by spheroidal weathering.
