This geopark is located in Qianshan County, Anqing City, Anhui Province. It has an area of 414 km2 and became a global geopark in 2001. It includes granite geology and geological heritage with ultra-high-pressure metamorphic rocks. The geopark consists of two areas: north and south. The northern area is the Tianzhushan granite geological area, and the southern area is an area of scientific research on ultra-high-pressure metamorphic rocks. The main peak of the Tianzhushan is 1,488 m above sea level, and it is 400 m higher than the surrounding mountains. Its stability is a major concern because severe rockfalls can be life-threatening. The landform has been named the Tianzhushan style.
