Swamp Landscape

A swamp is a depression with stagnant water that is populated by hygrophilous and hydrophilous plants and peat accumulations. Swamp landscapes are composed of swamps. Based on the geographical environment and the cause of formation, swamp landscapes can be classified into low swamp landscapes, transitional swamp landscapes, high swamp landscapes, peatland landscapes and salt marsh landscapes.
