Shantungosaurus giganteus was found in August 1964 in Longgu Jian (Keel Stream) in Lubiao Village, Zhucheng, Shangdong Province. This is by far the largest Hadrosaurus that has been discovered. From head to tail, it is 15 m long, has a standing height of 8 m and has nearly a thousand teeth. It lived during the late Cretaceous. This Hadrosaur is similar to the Edmontosaurus, which has been found in the United States and Canada, which further proves that when the Shantungosaurus was alive, the Asian continent was connected to the North American continent (Fig. 21).
