This park is located in the triangular area between Beijing, Tianjin and Baoding. The park is 151 km from Beijing and covers an area of 78 km2. It became a national mining park in 2005. The park comprises three theme attractions, namely, Yanling Mine Theme Park, which is a petroleum technology exhibition area, the Ren-4 well petroleum exploitation area, which provides an introduction to petroleum exploitation, and the Baiyangdian tourist attraction, which is an ecological sightseeing area. All of the landscape designs in the park are centred on petroleum exploration, exploitation, refining and transportation as well as other elements related to mechanical equipment. The park attempts to reproduce the conditions of the subsurface reservoir and show the balance between the petroleum industry and nature.
