In China, regional tectonic structures usually refer to the tectonic structures in a province (district) or in a structural zone. Examples are the Tanlu fault zone across the eastern part of the North China craton and the Daxing’anling Range-Taihangshan Mountain fault zone. The scale of the maps used to study these structures is typically 1:500,000 to 1:4,000,000.
