The Qingbaikouan Period is the first period of the Neoproterozoic Era in China. It extended from 1 billion to 800 million years ago, which is a duration of 200 million years. The Qingbaikouan System includes the rocks that formed during the Qingbaikouan Period. The standard section of the system is located at Qingbaikou in Yanchi Town, Mentougou District, Beijing. However, the latest dating data show that the Qingbaikou System strata are actually from the Mesoproterozoic Era. Further verification of the Qingbaikou Period is pending.
