Under continental climatic conditions in polar regions, most glaciers develop through the percolation and freezing process. The regions above and near the Antarctic and Arctic Circles, such as the glacier landscapes in Greenland, Iceland, Alaska and George Island in Antarctica, have important scientific and exploration tourism value.
