The physical geographic process includes studies of the occurrence, development, and evolution of physical geography and its associated elements. It includes climate change, landscape formation and evolution, hydrological processes, soil development and plant community development. The formation of landscapes and zones is an integrated natural geographic process. The purpose of studying the physical geographic process is to understand the formation and evolution of the Earth’s surface system and its intrinsic dynamic mechanisms. The time scales of natural geographic processes are usually divided into daily, seasonal, annual, short-term, multi-year, and long-term changes. The study of natural geographic processes provides a scientific basis for the rational development and protection of tourism landscape resources.
