There are 12 birthstones:

(January birthstone: garnet) Garnet symbolises chastity, sincerity, friendliness and truthfulness. It is also the gemstone for the 17th wedding anniversary.

(February birthstone: amethyst) Amethyst symbolises honesty and peace of mind, and it is the gemstone for the 17th wedding anniversary.

(March birthstone: aquamarine) Aquamarine symbolises composure, bravery, happiness and longevity.

(April birthstone: diamond) Diamond symbolises chastity and purity, and it is also the gemstone for the 75th wedding anniversary.

(May birthstone: emerald) Emerald symbolises a happy couple and is also the gemstone for the 55th wedding anniversary. As a gift, it is a token of luck and happiness.

(June birthstones: pearl, alexandrite and moonstone) Alexandrite is a chromium-containing chrysoberyl. It is green under sunlight but appears red under an incandescent light. Poets have described it as ‘the emerald of the day and ruby of the dark’. Moonstone can emit a light blue halo...
