Mount Huayingshan National Geopark is located in the eastern Sichuan Basin and stretches 300 km across 15 provinces and counties, including Sichuan and Chongqing, from north to south. It has been a national geopark since 2005. The peak of Mount Huangyingshan is Gaodeng Mountain, which has an elevation of 1,740 m and is the highest point in the lower part of the Sichuan Basin. The landscape includes moderate and low mountains, karst landscapes, geological structures, and complete stratigraphic sections. The geopark includes Gaodeng Mountain, Tianchi Lake and Xiaoshanba Scenic Area. The Gaodeng Mountain Scenic Area includes the Gaodeng Mountain Stone Forests, Shili Grand Canyon, Longwang Cave Anticline, and Gaodeng Mountain Syncline. Tianchi Lake has features such as Tianchi Lake, Bijia Cave, the Tianchi faults and folds, and the Xiangshui Cave Funnel Group. The Xiaoshanba Scenic Area mainly features moderate and low mountain karst landscapes.
