Mount Chaya-shan National Geopark, Henan

This geopark is located on the eastern edge of Funiushan in western Luanping County, Henan Province. It has an average elevation of 600 m, and the main geological attractions are the typical granite landscapes. It became a national geopark in 2004. The main body of the mountain is Yanshanian granite that is 140 million to 120 million years old. The geomorphic landscape that formed has been called the ‘mountain granite rock landscape of the low peak’. It consists of dense mountains, including Nanshan Mountain, Beishan Mountain, and Liufeng Mountain, as well as Tianma Lake, Lugu Lake, Xiumi Lake and Baihua Lake.’
