Mineralogy is the study of the chemical composition, internal structure, form, physical and chemical properties, formation, occurrence, symbiotic combinations, changing conditions, and uses of minerals and their relationships. The main purpose of mineralogy is to maximize the development and utilization of mineral resources, assist in prospecting and provide scientific evidence about the evolution and changes of crustal materials. Specific minerals can be used as precious stones and ornamental stones and are important geotourism resources.
