Mineral Flexibility

Mineral flexibility refers to the capacity of a flaky mineral to bend without breaking when subject to an external force. For example, mica, vermiculite and chlorite can be bent but will return to their original shapes when the external force is removed. Mineral flexibility is also a means for mineral identification.
