Mesozoic volcanoes are volcanoes that formed during the Jurassic (145.5–199.6 million years ago) and the Cretaceous (65.5–145.5 years ago). There is an important area of Mesozoic volcanoes in eastern China that contains several types of volcanoes. Typical Mesozoic volcanoes can also be found in Zhejiang Province, Fujian Province, Jiangxi Province, Guangdong Province and Hong Kong. Most are eroded volcanoes, such as the Yandangshan caldera in Zhejiang Province, the Sai Kung eroded volcano in Hong Kong and the Niangniang Mountain eroded volcano in Nanjing.
