Memorial Stone

Memorial stones are stones that commemorate historical or modern celebrities. They are ornamental stones with special commemorative significance or scientific value that have been collected by the nation, a group or a single person. Currently, there are four main types of memorial stones: (1) state memorial stones, which are stones collected by the nation or a department, such as the Changlin diamond, which was dedicated to the country by farmers; the Antarctic stone, which was given by China’s scientists to Beijing University; and memorial stones given by one nation to another as gifts, such as moon rocks, the Third Pole stone, gems, minerals and rare fossils; (2) celebrity memorial stones, such as the Lingbi stone and Taihu stone, which were collected in the past; the malachite collected by Guo Moruo; the Quaternary glacial stone collected by Li Siguang; and the Yuhua stones collected by Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao; (3) event memorial stones, such as the Three Gorges Dam core stone...
