Marine climates occur in regions of the ocean, islands, and offshore regions affected by the ocean. Due to the effects of the large bodies of water, the summers are cool, the winters are mild, and the autumns are warmer than the springs. The annual and daily variations in temperature are small, and the extreme temperatures occur later than in continental climates. The seasonal distribution of the precipitation is relatively uniform. There are more rainy days than nonrainy days, with more clouds and fog and high humidity. The maritime climate is characterized by precipitation, warm temperatures, warm winters and cool summers.
