Manchuria City Zhalainuoer National Mining Park, Inner Mongolia

This park became a national mining park in 2005. It is located in Manzhouli City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The park is located on the Hailar Plateau on the western slope of the Daxinganling Mountains and is surrounded on three sides by low mountains. The main mining sites are the longest internal railway in China (119 km), more than 30 historical steam locomotives, mining huts and houses from the Russian and Japanese occupations, open pits, mining outcrops, faults, folds, fire zones, rockfalls and collapses. Numerous ancient human fossils have been discovered in the park.
