Liupanshui Mount Wumengshan National Geopark is located in Liupanshui City, which is in western Guizhou Province. It acquired national geopark status in 2005. The peak and the plateau karst landscape on the eastern slope of Mount Wumengshan are the major features. The core area of the geopark is the Beipan River and karst valleys. The limestone landform is from the Cenozoic, and it is unique to the eastern slope of the Yunnan-Guilin Plateau. It has two scenic districts, namely, the Beipan River Grand Canyon and the Biyun Caves. The former is characterised by the Beipan River grand karst canyon, which links several unique geomorphologic landscapes, including karst shafts, giant collapse dolines, subterranean rivers, plateau karsts and mountain plateaus. The latter feature karst caves and mountains near Chengguan Village in Panxian County.
