This geopark is located on the northern bank of Taiji Gorge and Taiji Lake in Yongjing County, Gansu Province. It became a national geopark in 2002. The geological remains are dominated by clusters of dinosaur footprints, which are very complete and clear with good three-dimensionality. Dinosaur sleeping prints, tail trails, and manure trails are also present in the same rock formation. Thirty sets comprising 270 footprints of eight types of dinosaurs have been discovered in the 710 m2 of rock that has been excavated, including at least two types of giant sauropods, two types of theropods, a similar bird dragon, and three other types that have not yet been assigned.
