This geopark is located in western Jiayin County, Heilongjiang Province, between the Taipinggou Estuary and No. 2 Liangzi on the right bank of the Heilongjiang River. It is approximately 11 km long and faces Buschovo in Russia across the river. It was approved as a national geopark by the Ministry of Land and Resources. Late Cretaceous (88–65 million years old) dinosaur fossils and additional plant and animal fossils are the main geological relics, including fossils of dinosaurs, fish, turtles, gastropods, insects, and plants. The stratigraphic profile and the sequence are complete and continuous. The fossil of the flat-headed duck-billed dinosaur found in the early twentieth century was the earliest such dinosaur fossil found in China. In addition, carnivorous Tyrannosaurus and Jiayin plant fossils have also been discovered.
