Jeju Island Geopark, Korea

This geopark is located on Jeju Island, South Korea, and covers an area of 2,368 km2. It became a global geopark in 2010. Its main attractions include Halla Mountain, Seongsan Sunrise Peak, Manjan Grottoes, Seogwipo Shellfish, Cheonjiyeon Waterfall, Chinese Dapu Coastal Column Joints, Shanfang Mountain, Longtou Coast, and Shuiyue Peak. Jeju Island, which is Korea’s largest island, is a volcanic island. It has important academic value and provides beautiful natural landscapes for visitors. It is Korea’s premier world-class resort and recreation area.
