Huaibei National Mining Park, Anhui

This park is located in northern Anhui Province on the borders with Jiangsu Province and Henan Province. It became a national mining park in 2005. There are abundant remains of mining activities, including large coal mines that were built and put into production after the establishment of the modern China in 1949, small coal pits exploited by local enterprises and small abandoned coal pits from ancient coal mining activities. The park can be divided into three parts, namely, the Xiangcheng Coal Culture Scenic Area, Xiangshan Earthquake Remains and Nanhu Subsidence Site Recreational Zone. The Xiangcheng Coal Mine is the core scenic site, and it mainly includes mine remains, the main telphers and the main haulage roadway.
