This is a type of landform of spring precipitation that forms a flow of elongated calcareous tufa in regions of high elevation and high latitude. Huanglong in Sichuan Province is a typical example. In Huanglong, golden-coloured tufa extends for 2.5 km with a width of 10–170 m. It looks like a golden dragon when viewed from a distance. It has high scientific, aesthetic and ornamental value and has become a national geopark and World Natural Heritage Site.
