This geopark is located 15 km southwest of Haikou City between Shishan and Yongxing Towns. It became a global geopark in 2004. The entire area is a typical volcanic rift graben. The geopark is home to one of the few Holocene volcanoes in China (10,000 years old). The area includes 40 volcanoes and more than 30 lava tunnels. The largest, Ma’anling Crater, is a dormant volcano with a height of 222 m above sea level and a 90-m-deep eruptive vent. There are various tropical plants and attractive scenery.
