Guiping National Geopark, Guangxi

Guiping National Geopark is located in Guiping City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It became a national geopark in 2009. The main geological attractions include Danxia and granite landforms, sandstone peaks and gorges. The collapsing and superimposed granite landforms in the Xishan area have many peculiar shapes. A danxia landscape is developed in the Baishishan scenic area and is one of the typical Danxia landforms in southern China. The strata in Dateng Gorge and Longtan Park are composed of Cambrian and Devonian sandstones with fluvial landforms, sandstone peaks and clusters, pinnacles and gorges.
