Comprehensive Competencies for Infant/Toddler Educators

Educators of babies (birth through age 3 years) must have a set of unique competencies – including knowledge, dispositions, and skills – to practice their work in ways that support child well-being and development. A comprehensive set of competencies can serve to organize pre-service and in-service training and professional development, and raise the quality of preparation of infant/toddler educators.
