Teachers in the Compulsory Education in Rural China, Characteristics and Limitations

Introduction

Educational opportunities are not only an important part of the equality of educational opportunities but also an inevitable requirement for higher education from elite to popularization in a country or a region. Many scholars from all over the world have conducted in-depth discussions on this issue and have achieved many results since the 1960s. In 1948, Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations points out: “Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages.” In the 1960s, with the development of the US economy and society and the gradual popularization of higher education, more and more scholars have paid attention to this issue. James S. Coleman is one of them.
