An awareness of present experience with acceptance.
Description
Satisfaction with life is the cognitive appraisal of the satisfactoriness of the conditions of one’s life (Diener, Emmons, Larsen, & Griffen, 1985). It is robustly related to behavioral markers of thriving and positive affect (Lyubomirsky, King, & Diener, 2005), and it is a core component of a subjective sense of well-being (Andrews & Withey, 1976; Dierner, 1984). Lyubomirsky et al. (2005) refer to satisfaction with life as “a defensible proxy for chronic happiness,” (p. 822) given the strong relationship between satisfaction with life, positive affect, and happiness.
