Sarcocystis rileyi

Molecular investigations have shown that the life cycle apparently includes two final hosts (red foxes: Vulpes vulpes and raccoon dogs: Nyctereutes procyonoides) in Europe, while the cysts are found in ducks (shoveler: Anas clypeata; mallard: Anas platyrhynchos; Eurasian wigeon: Anas penelope; common teal: Anas crecca; and common eider: Somateria mollissima).
