Zusammenfassung

Der Urogenitaltrakt der Frau wird während und nach der Schwangerschaft durch physiologische und pathologische Veränderungen beeinträchtigt. Dies kann temporäre Beschwerden bei der Schwangeren auslösen, mitunter aber auch bleibende und quälende Folgen haben. Verschwinden Pollakisurie und Harndrang und ein oftmals gehäuftes Auftreten von Harnwegsinfekten mit der Geburt des Kindes, so können Beckenbodenverletzungen im Rahmen des Geburtsvorgangs zu dauerhaften Beeinträchtigungen mit Urin- und Stuhlinkontinenz, Senkungserscheinungen oder gar urogenitalen Fisteln führen. Die Lebensqualität der Frauen ist dann nachhaltig vermindert. Urologische Schwangerschaftskomplikationen sollten daher wann immer nötig interdisziplinär begutachtet und therapiert werden, da Diagnostik, Bildgebung und Therapie der Schwangeren eine besondere Herausforderung darstellen. Die schockierende Lage der Frauen in Entwicklungsländern mit hohen Raten an Geburtstraumata und dem Auftreten multiresistenter Keime stellt eine weitere Herausforderung des Umgangs mit Schwangerschaftskomplikationen und deren Prävention dar.
